Uncle and foster-brother of the Prophet ﷺ, Ḥamzah (ra) was a renowned warrior whose acceptance of Islam strengthened and protected the early community against Quraysh.
He fought with distinction at Badr and was martyred at Uḥud, after which the Prophet ﷺ grieved deeply and named him the Lion of Allah and chief of the martyrs.
