Following about three years of quiet invitation, the Prophet ﷺ was commanded to proclaim the message openly. He ascended Mount Ṣafā and called his people to the worship of the One God.
Quraysh's leaders, fearing for their idols and authority, turned to ridicule, pressure, and persecution — especially of the weak and enslaved among the early believers.
