Al-A'laa

سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى١

87:1Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ٢

87:2Who created and proportioned

وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ٣

87:3And who destined and [then] guided

وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ٤

87:4And who brings out the pasture

فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ٥

87:5And [then] makes it black stubble.

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ٦

87:6We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget,

إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ٧

87:7Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden.

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ٨

87:8And We will ease you toward ease.

فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ٩

87:9So remind, if the reminder should benefit;

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ١٠

87:10He who fears [Allah] will be reminded.

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى١١

87:11But the wretched one will avoid it -

ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ١٢

87:12[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ١٣

87:13Neither dying therein nor living.

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ١٤

87:14He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself

وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ١٥

87:15And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا١٦

87:16But you prefer the worldly life,

وَٱلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ١٧

87:17While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ١٨

87:18Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ١٩

87:19The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
