The most hated person in the sight of Allah is the most quarrelsome person
Authenticعن عائشة رضي الله عنها عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «إِنَّ أَبْغَضَ الرِّجَالِ إِلَى اللهِ الْأَلَدُّ الْخَصِمُ».
‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most hated person in the sight of Allah is the most quarrelsome person."
Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs that Allah Almighty dislikes people who are given to tough quarreling, those who refuse to submit to the truth and try to repel it with their argumentation, or they engage in rightful arguments. Still, they do so in an immoderate manner or without knowledge.
Benefits
- A wronged person's pursuit of his right through legal procedures does not fall under reprehensible disputes.
- Dispute and argumentation are among the bad uses of the tongue which cause disunity and enmity among the Muslims.
- Argumentation is commendable if a person engages in it for the right cause and in a reasonable manner, and it is reprehensible if he participates in it to repel the truth and establish falsehood or if he does so without proof or evidence.
